The project "Towards a society free of violence" holds a meeting on human rights issues in the Middle governorate

The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, within the project "Towards a society free of violence against women", held an educational meeting on human rights and the international conventions on human rights for more than 15 men from the groups targeted by the project, in cooperation with the Culture and Free Thought Association in the Middle governorate.

During the educational meeting, the lawyer of the project "Towards a society free of violence against women", Mohammed Abu Salem, spoke about the main definitions of human rights and about the most important concepts and standards without which a person cannot live, in addition to becoming familiar with the two international covenants on civil rights and on economic, social and cultural rights. He reviewed the protocols attached to the international covenants and their importance for all citizens around the world in obtaining and learning about rights and duties within society, in accordance with international norms and conventions.
For their part, the participants raised a range of questions about human rights, the foundations of peaceful coexistence between people, how to obtain rights, which are the main bodies that oversee the application of these rights, and the mechanisms for enacting the laws and rights needed to secure and protect societies.

It is noted that the Conflict Resolution Center carries out the project "Towards a society free of violence against women" with funding from the Norwegian People's Aid programme (NPA) in the Gaza and West Bank governorates, with the aim of reducing violence against women and reaching a safe environment for women and their families within society.
