The Coalition of Civil Forces begins training its team on the concepts of civil peace in Nablus governorate

The Coalition of Civil Forces, founded by the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution in the country's governorates, has begun training the coalition's team in Nablus governorate on the concepts of civil peace, mobilisation and advocacy, in addition to the arts of planning and communicating with others, with the participation of representatives of civil society organisations and community activists.

At the first meeting to train the coalition's team, the director of the Conflict Resolution Center's branch in Nablus governorate stressed that Palestinian reconciliation is a national demand of all members of Palestinian society and that these activities serve to root the concepts of civil peace and spread them within the local community. He added: "We at the Conflict Resolution Center, as part of our general strategies, seek to restore cohesion and national unity between the two parts of the homeland and between all the Palestinian factions and parties."

For her part, the coordinator of the Coalition of Civil Forces in Nablus governorate, Hanadi Al-Qadoumi, explained that the coalition's team will receive five training meetings on the concepts of civil peace, communication, mobilisation and lobbying skills, as well as planning and managing media campaigns. She pointed out that humanity's suffering from the dangers of wars and internal conflicts threatens the structure of social cohesion and weakens development and the advancement of societies, and that it is therefore essential to rely on spreading the principles of democracy and their connection with political, professional and trade union institutions and a free press.

The participants agreed to intensify public meetings in the coming period inside Palestinian universities and schools in the West Bank governorates and to work on dedicating all these events of the Coalition of Civil Forces to achieving national reconciliation, ending the division and reaching a democratic environment for all the people of the homeland.

It is worth noting that the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution has launched a range of initiatives and projects on achieving community reconciliation and ending disputes between parties, factions and civil society organisations, with the aim of achieving civil peace among all groups in society in the governorates of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
