The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution took part, within the child protection teams project funded by the United Nations Children's Fund "UNICEF", in the recreational day for children with cancer held by the Palestinian Family Advancement Association within the activities of its summer camp at the Gaza municipality park on the thirteenth of this month. Mrs. Dina Al-Anqar, the project coordinator, explained that this visit is one of the emergency visits carried out by the project to entertain children, to work on integrating them into society and to create a suitable psychological atmosphere to help them overcome any psychological pressures and to bring delight and joy to their hearts. On another side, Mr. Ahmed Abu Qamar, director of the Family Advancement Association, noted that this camp is the third of its kind carried out by the association over three consecutive years, where each camp brings together around 35 children suffering from cancer or thalassaemia. In the same context, Mr. Abu Qamar confirmed the importance of those events for the association's children, since they contribute to strengthening their capacities and their comprehension in the psychological and academic aspects. He also praised the effective role of the Palestinian Center in supporting the disabled sector and strengthening their rights to play and their integration into society. In conclusion, and as a continuation of the activities of the recreational day, the Centre took part with a puppet entertainment item, and some gifts were distributed to the children, in addition to distributing the free number for children to call in the event of any problem. |
