Application to join the youth debating club

The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution works to promote the principles of democracy and human rights in general and those of vulnerable groups in particular, and to strengthen tolerance, social peace, justice, accountability and gender equality, as well as to consolidate good governance, transparency and integrity. The Centre also contributes to bridging the gap in the psychosocial and legal services that vulnerable and marginalised groups lack.

The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution is implementing the project "A Step Towards Change", which aims to contribute to empowering women and young people in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip by promoting political and community participation and gender equality and strengthening their capacity to claim their rights, in partnership with the Norwegian People's Aid office.

Among its various activities, the project seeks to form a debating club team across the northern and southern governorates.

The Centre therefore invites interested young men and women to join the debating club by completing the attached form.

Conditions for joining the club:

• Participants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
  Participants must have a spirit of initiative and voluntary work.
• The ability to comply fully with the club's statutes.
  Playing an active community role and seeking to promote a culture of social peace and the language of dialogue.
• Participants must have community mobilisation and communication skills.
• The applicant must have attended the debating training delivered by the Centre.
  Participants must have qualifications or experience in voluntary and community work.

Registration runs from 15/4/2018 to 15/5/2018.
Selected candidates will be contacted based on the conditions set out above.
