Meeting of the coalition of organisations in the project for monitoring and documenting violations of children's rights

On Wednesday the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, in partnership with Save the Children, held a workshop at the La Terrazza restaurant entitled "Meeting of the coalition of organisations", within the project for monitoring and documenting violations of children's rights. It was attended by the director of the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, Mr. Iyad Abu Hjair, the head of the legal unit Younis Al-Tahrawi, project coordinator Awni Farhat, and a number of representatives of the member organisations of the coalition.

The director of the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, Mr. Iyad Abu Hjair, stressed the Centre's readiness and efforts to make this coalition for monitoring violations of children's rights an organisation in its own right. The floor was opened for discussion of the coalition's internal regulations, with some amendments made to the initial draft and discussion of the views and ideas that would organise the tasks and efforts of the organisations in safeguarding the child and their rights.

Abu Hjair pointed out that the Centre will strive by every means to obtain a licence for this monitoring coalition, given its great importance for children whose rights are violated. Highlighting those violations, pursuing those who commit them and protecting and advocating for child victims of violence are among the basic objectives of the Rased coalition, which it will work to realise in practice with professionalism and impartiality.

In closing, the organisations praised this important coalition in our Palestinian society, and those present agreed to adopt the internal regulations definitively after discussing the amendments to them.
