The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, in cooperation with An-Najah National University, concluded a training course for a number of the university's students at the Centre in several university disciplines, within the framework of the Centre's strategy of communication and of providing services to the Palestinian public.
In this context, the specialist at the Conflict Resolution Center, Wurud Yassin, pointed out that the training covered several disciplines, among them psychology, counselling and social work, comprising 25 training hours at the Centre's premises. She added: "During the training we addressed subjects such as how to be a psychological counsellor, how to conduct a counselling interview, dealing with individual cases and the importance of the family meeting points."
Yassin explained that the participants benefited from the training, which raised their competence and gave them new practical and applied skills in their university disciplines and prepared them to know the challenges in the labour market and the profession. She stressed that the Centre will continue to provide more training meetings in the coming period, within the Centre's philosophy of coordinating with the various local organisations and associations in Nablus governorate.
It is noted that the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution carries out a number of projects and programmes in several governorates in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and focuses its activities on supporting women and children, education, awareness-raising and advocacy.
