The project for protecting children from armed violence concludes a course in animated film-making for children in Gaza

The project for protecting children from armed violence at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, in partnership with Save the Children, concluded a training course entitled "Animation film-making", carried out in a number of schools in Gaza governorate and for juvenile children at the Al-Rabee institution for social care.

In this framework, the training coordinator, Lama Abu Taha, stressed that the training in animated film-making relied on the "Harrikha" technique for making cartoon films, training 12 pupils from each school in Gaza governorate. She explained that the pupils taking part in the training benefited by setting out their views and expressing their ideas and feelings about community issues, as well as by learning about their rights and the ways of defending rights within society.

Abu Taha went on to say: "We carried out the training at Saad bin Abi Waqqas School and Sobhi Abu Karsh School, with representatives of the Ministry of Education present to commend this training for the pupils." She noted that each school will produce two short animation films to be shown on YouTube so that people can watch them and benefit from the children's small experiences in reflecting reality through image and word.
