Conflict Resolution Center holds a training course on developing the skills of women mukhtars in conflict resolution

On Monday the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution held a training course entitled "Developing the skills of women mukhtars in conflict resolution: HLP" in the hall of the Al-Salam restaurant, as part of the activities and events of the project "Strengthening and improving women's rights to housing, land and property in the Gaza Strip".

The course was attended by the women lawyers of the Conflict Resolution Center, who trained the activists, with some 20 women activists from local community organisations taking part, in order to qualify them, develop their capacities and raise their awareness of matters of marriage, divorce, housing, inheritance, land and property, so that they can act as mediators in resolving such cases.

The course is due to run for four consecutive days. The first day will cover personal status law in matters of marriage and divorce and their consequences; the second the concept of mediation, its characteristics and rules and the qualities of a mediator; the third will provide practical training in mediation for the trainees; and the fourth and final day will cover the types of land, the best-known ways of acquiring ownership, land registration procedures and the main documents proving ownership.
