The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution is delivering a training course to develop and refine the capacities and skills of young men and women, giving them many of the basic skills that qualify them to engage in social accountability in local government.
Fifty young men and women from different disciplines and interests across the Gaza Strip governorates are taking part in the training, within the activities of the project "An Advanced Step Towards Social Accountability", funded by the National Endowment for Democracy. This project is a distinctive and unique step, as the young people, working with the municipalities and the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, will focus on a set of important community issues and put forward suitable solutions from the point of view of both the municipality and the citizens.
This comes from the Centre's belief in the positive role of young people as a strategic partner in planning and working to improve performance and keep pace with reform policies in the local government sector, by making every effort to achieve the project's objectives.
