A Norwegian People's Aid delegation visits Conflict Resolution to strengthen their shared relations

A delegation from the Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) programme visited the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution as part of strengthening relations and hearing about the Centre's main achievements, particularly the projects run in partnership with NPA, among them the project "Towards a society free of violence". The delegation was received by representatives of the board and of the Centre's branches, together with the project team in Gaza City.

The delegation heard a full account of the project's main achievements and figures, including that in 2013 the project provided psychological and social support services to 895 women, in addition to legal support to more than 280 cases in the Palestinian territories, and provided the same services through the counselling points, in coordination with the partner associations, to 254 women subjected to violence.

During the meeting, the project team answered the delegation's questions about the situation of women under the siege and the effects of economic conditions on women's psychological and social relations with those around them, husbands, relatives and neighbours.

The delegation's visit included a tour of the Centre's main premises in Gaza City, meeting the Centre's team and learning about its main projects carried out in the governorates of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
