Conflict Resolution holds an awareness meeting for inmates at the reform centres

The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution held an awareness meeting on "The legal rights of inmates", within the activities of the project "Stronger oversight, better justice", funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

The meeting, chaired by lawyer Jaber Al-Basyouni under the supervision of the project coordinator, lawyer Anwar Azzam, addressed the following themes: a culture of inmates' rights; the rights and duties Islam guarantees to prisoners and detainees; and the positive effects on inmates of being treated well by officials and supervisors. The aim was to improve the conditions of detainees and inmates, to safeguard their rights and treat them fairly, and to improve their chances of reaching justice.
At the end of the meeting, thanks were given to the rehabilitation centre for hosting it and a call was made for joint cooperation to continue in future activities.
