The child protection teams hold festivals for children with the participation of 600 children in Gaza

The child protection teams project at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution held six childhood festivals in Gaza governorate, in coordination with a number of partner associations in the Gaza governorates and with the participation of 600 boys and girls, at the Crazy Water tourist resort south-west of Gaza City, with funding from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
For his part, the coordinator of the child protection teams project in the North governorate, Rabie Hamouda, praised the effective and distinctive participation of the children in the festivals in easing the psychological and social effects on them and in bringing a smile to the children's lips. He explained that the child protection teams project holds these festivals within its plan of programmes aimed at providing psychological and social support to children within Palestinian society.
Hamouda added: "We held the festivals in coordination with several associations in the North, Middle and Gaza governorates, with the aim of coordinating and reaching as many children as possible within the project." He explained that the festivals' recreational programme included many distinctive items, the most notable being dabke, clowns, recreational games, and puppet and dancing items for the children.
For their part, a number of the children taking part in the festivals expressed their great happiness at the festival's activities and at the joy they brought into their hearts, expressing the hope that the coming days would bring more of an atmosphere of joy and delight for all the children of Palestine and the world.
It is worth noting that last week the Conflict Resolution Center held a children's march to mark World Children's Day at the Unknown Soldier Square, with the participation of around 1,000 children from the various Gaza governorates, calling for children to be protected and given the lawful rights guaranteed to them by international law.
