The Justice for All project concludes the first phase of strengthening the capacities of reconciliation figures in Khan Younis

At the start of the meeting, the director of the Conflict Resolution Center's Khan Younis branch, Ashraf Abu Anza, praised the sound conduct of the first phase of training reconciliation figures in a range of legal fields, as well as the work on increasing the mukhtars' grasp of arbitration procedures, particularly on the subject of arbitration. He praised the positive relationship linking the Centre with reconciliation figures and their role in supporting citizens in their daily cases and concerns.
For his part, the assistant coordinator of the Justice for All project, lawyer Anwar Azzam, spoke about the importance of this course for reconciliation figures in issuing legally sound arbitration rulings in terms of procedure and their soundness against appeal and annulment before the courts. He valued the effective participation of the reconciliation figures and the trainers in ensuring the objective of strengthening the legal capacities of a number of groups in the local community is achieved.
Azzam confirmed that the second phase of the training course for reconciliation figures will begin in the first week of next January in Gaza governorate with the participation of 35 reconciliation figures, in addition to holding a training course in the field of land law. He noted that the Justice for All project will continue to carry out a set of activities and events that strengthen the rule of law and access to justice in Palestinian society in the coming stage.
At the end of the meeting, training certificates were distributed to the reconciliation figures, as well as certificates of appreciation to the trainers who contributed to delivering the training course, which lasted two weeks at the Conflict Resolution Center's premises in Khan Younis governorate, amid calls from the reconciliation figures to be given new training courses in the field of legal awareness and particularly in arbitration law.
