The project for improving awareness of gender issues at the Conflict Resolution Center begins carrying out its work in the Gaza and North governorates

The project for improving Palestinian society's awareness in advocating gender issues at the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution has begun carrying out a series of its activities and programmes in the Gaza governorates to make a number of social groups aware of supporting gender issues between the sexes.

The project coordinator, Manal Zein Al-Din, confirmed that the Conflict Resolution Center has started carrying out the project's general plan by holding a set of awareness and educational meetings on gender issues in the Gaza and North governorates. She added: "Our project focuses on engaging with preparatory-stage pupils in schools, given the importance of this group, and on training them in concepts relating to gender and its requirements."

Zein Al-Din pointed to the need to root the concepts of knowing rights and duties in individuals from a young age, which will support the achievement of justice and integrity and prevent rights from being lost in the local community. She explained that coordination is continuing with the UNRWA education administration in Gaza to carry out a set of initiatives with a number of agency school pupils in the Gaza and North governorates.

It is noted that the project for improving Palestinian society's awareness in advocating gender issues is carried out in partnership with the Aisha Association for Mother and Child and with funding from the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), with the aim of supporting social groups with gender concepts and the ways of developing them in Palestinian society.
