A call for help

The phenomenon of violence against women has increased recently, in particular the killing of women on the grounds of what is called family honour. The rights centres in the Palestinian areas, in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, have documented dozens of victims killed under the pretext of "family honour".
And we, within the project to combat violence against women, raise it as a cry for help to every official and decision-maker, to religious figures, to citizens and to families, to work together to put an end to the practice of violence against women, and let us work together for a society free of violence.
We also urge everyone to work tirelessly to spread awareness among all alike of the importance of enacting laws that are fair between the sexes and of applying them without any discrimination whatsoever.
