"Protect My Right" project

Day: Sunday to Tuesday

Time: 1:00 to 4:30

Place: the office of the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution, Gaza.

Number of participants: 25 children.

Details of the training:

On the first day, the training workshop began with participants being introduced to the trainer Ms. Nivine Al-Qishawi and to one another, followed by a discussion of the course's aim of raising awareness and educating participants about the concept of accountability, then going into its requirements, importance and implementation mechanisms in detail, in addition to practical training on how to use accountability to protect their rights as children.

The following day brought a new topic and a new trainer. Mr. Rabie Hamouda began the training by getting to know the children and introducing himself, then discussed the aim of the course in raising awareness and educating participants about the concept of advocacy, going deeper into its mechanisms and stages and showing how change can be brought about through advocacy, as well as explaining the skills needed to carry it out.

The third and final day was divided between two topics. The first was the practical, applied side of advocacy, where Mr. Iyad Abu Hjair explained to participants how to create an advocacy plan and the right ways to implement it. In the second, participants were with Ms. Sara Daghmash to discuss an important and sensitive subject, early marriage, where the trainer explained the concept of early marriage and spoke in detail about its risks, drawbacks and consequences and ways to reduce this phenomenon.

The course concluded with a general discussion about the training, the exchange of advice and an open discussion among participants about the topics they had been trained on. Participants praised the course and thanked the Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution and Save the Children for their continued efforts and attention to children. Participants were then thanked for their commitment and engagement with the trainers throughout the course.
