PCDCR statement regarding so-called the deal of the century

The Palestinian Center for Democracy and Conflict Resolution would like to put on the record our rejection of the so-called “Deal of the Century”, announced by the U.S President Donald Trump. This Deal clearly takes the side of Israel and its settlers at the expense of Palestinians and their basic rights of living on their land. It is worth mentioning that the announced Deal was not at all discussed with Palestinians, neither the government nor the people, and was imposed on them with no consultation or even mutual talks. PCDCR refuses the way this Deal classifies Palestinians as a burden on the region and the world that should be gotten rid of or disposed of in any way possible, even if it meant depriving them of their basic rights and taking away more and more of their land and the land of the ancestors.

Moreover, PCDCR would like to emphasize that this Deal is not in any way compatible with the international laws and legislations. This is obviously an illegal attempt to support the Israeli settlements across Palestine. Furthermore, the announced “Palestinian territories” within this Deal are known to be short of any beneficial resources that could improve the lives of its citizens, and there is difficulty within these areas in communication with the outside world. As a Palestinian NGO concerned with conflict resolution and human rights, PCDCR categorically rejects this Deal because it is completely unjust. Whereas, conflicts can only be solved with justice, or at least the minimum amount of it.

PCDCR calls on the international community to support the Palestinians in their just demands to gain their legitimate rights to establish an independent viable state on the boarders of 4^th June 1967 which represent the minimum rights of Palestinians.

Moreover, PCDCR calls on the Palestinian leaders to alleviate the internal division. This would be the time to put their differences aside and stand united against this Deal … what exactly are they waiting for?!!

PCDCR demands a supportive role from Arab communities and a respectful and just international position.

موقف المركز الفلسطيني للديمقراطية وحل النزاعات من “صفقة القرن”

يسجل المركز الفلسطيني للديمقراطية وحل النزاعات اعتراضه على صفقة القرن التي تم إعلانها من قبل الرئيس الأميركي ترامب والتي يتجاهل بها أبسط حقوق الشعب الفلسطيني، حيث فُصلت لتحقيق المطالب الاسرائيلية بالدرجة الأولى. ولم يُستشر الفلسطينيون لا شعبًا ولا قيادةً في صياغتها، ولم يكن لهم أي اعتبار، وتم التعامل معهم كأنهم عبء بشري على المنطقة والعالم، وهم في أرضهم وأرض أجدادهم منذ آلاف السنين، من خلال رسم خريطة لدولة بلا معالم مفتقرة لكل مقومات الحياة. وضربت هذه الصفقة بعرض الحائط كل قرارات الشرعية الدولية وتعاملت مع الشعب الفلسطيني كلقطاء بإعطائهم فتات الأرض وهم أصحاب الأرض الأصليون، ورسم حدود دولة غير قابلة للبقاء وبلا أدنى مقومات الحياة، ويطلب من الفلسطينيين أن يوافقوا عليها. لا يوجد في الدولة الفلسطينية المعلنة أي إمكانية للتواصل مع العالم الخارجي او حتى مع أجزائها إلا بتحكم إسرائيلي، حيث أنها دولة بلا سيادة حقيقية.

ونحن في المركز الفلسطيني للديمقراطية وحل النزاعات كمؤسسة مجتمع مدني نسجل موقفنا الرافض لهذه الصفقة، حيث أن النزاعات لا تحل بمثل هذه الطريقة التي لا تراعي الحد الأدنى من العدالة والتي هي شرط ضروري لاستمرارية أي حل.

نطالب المجتمع الدولي أن يساندننا في مطالبنا العادلة لنيل حقوقنا المشروعة لإقامة دولة مستقلة قابلة للحياة على حدود 4 حزيران 1967 والتي تمثل الحد الأدنى من حقوق الشعب الفلسطيني.

وندعو أيضا قيادات الشعب الفلسطيني للتوحد لإيجاد صيغة للتفاهم لإنهاء الانقسام، فماذا ينتظرهم؟ ونطالب بموقف عربي داعم وموقف دولي محترم وعادل.
